Flock Club Book Club: The Backyard Bird Chronicles

  • Albany Park Library 3401 West Foster Avenue Chicago, IL, 60625 United States (map)

Join us for this latest edition of Flock Club!, the social gathering by and for bird enthusiasts. Our March gathering is a book discussion focusing on Amy Tan’s “The Backyard Bird Chronicles.”

Like many of us, acclaimed author Tan turned to the outdoors when she felt overwhelmed by world events. Constructed like a diary and replete with illustrations, her book explores the deepening joy and peace she found while immersing herself in nature. Her thoughtful questions will help guide our group discussion. This 320-page book has more than 100 illustrations and a forward by David Allen Sibley.

Schedule

5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Get acquainted and enjoy light refreshments.

6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. – Discuss The Backyard Bird Chronicles.
