Join COS and co-organizers Chicago BIPOC Birders and Chicago Bird Alliance for a BIG episode of Birds & Bytes. In 2024, Chicago birder Tarik Shahzad broke the Cook Country record for the number of species observed in a calendar year. Tarik will share his motivation behind attempting a Big Year, his most memorable chases and bird observations as well as what he has taken away from the experience.

Tarik Shahzad is an environmental policy advocate for The Nature Conservancy and lives in Chicago.
